Fidelis Care Opens Applications for Workforce Pathways to Health and Economic Mobility Grants

Up to $120,000 in funding supports programs connecting Medicaid members with employment, education, training, and volunteer opportunities

LONG ISLAND CITY, N.Y., Oct. 28, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Fidelis Care, a statewide health plan serving more than 2 million members in New York State and a Centene Corporation company, has opened applications for up to $120,000 in Workforce Pathways to Health and Economic Mobility grants.

Fidelis Care expects to award grants up to $40,000 for programs that support workforce development and connect Medicaid members with employment, education, training, apprenticeships, or volunteer opportunities. Funding will support coordinated programs that help participants find workforce resources and connect with services and follow-up support.

Applications are available at fideliscare.org/workforce-grant. The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. November 16.

"As upcoming Medicaid work and community engagement requirements approach, it is increasingly important that people have access to trusted local organizations that can connect them to employment resources and help them overcome barriers to using those tools," said Fidelis Care Vice President of Member Experience Megan Woodward. "These grants will create pathways to promote both economic stability and improved health outcomes."

Eligible applicants include New York-based Social Care Networks, nonprofit community-based organizations, and healthcare provider organizations. Each applicant must include at least one cross-sector partner.

Grant-supported activities may include career counseling, job readiness and digital literacy training, credentialing assistance, connections to employers and training programs, and retention coaching. Funding may also address participation barriers such as transportation, childcare, technology, and language access.

Fidelis Care expects to announce its Workforce Pathways to Health and Economic Mobility grant recipients in December.
