Fiji Elections Office Calls For Expressions Of Interest For Overseas Registration
First step in campaign to register overseas voters
SUVA, Fiji, Sept. 4, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Fiji Elections Office is calling on all Fijian citizens living overseas who want to register to vote in the 2014 parliamentary elections to submit an expression of interest online.
This is the first step in our campaign to register overseas voters.
Submission of an expression of interest is not mandatory to be eligible to register. It is simply designed to help the Elections Office plan for the deployment of resources in order to best cater for Fijians living overseas.
Interested parties are asked to complete a form on the Elections Office website (http://www.electionsfiji.gov.fj/overseas-evr/), which includes name, date of birth, city and country of residence, passport number and email address.
Please note that a valid Fijian passport will be required in order to register as an overseas voter. If your Fijian passport has expired or is due to expire within the next 6 months, you should make the necessary arrangements for its renewal as soon as possible.
Submission of this expression of interest will not count as registration.
The Electronic Voter Registration (EVR) system requires that individuals register in person so that they can give their thumbprint and have their photograph taken.
