On May 6, 2014, American Financial Group Inc. (AFG) reported its Q1 2014 financial results. Total revenues for Q1 2014 were up by 5.5% YoY to $1.2 billion. Net earnings attributable to shareholders for Q1 2014 were $103 million or $1.13 per diluted share, compared to net earnings attributable to shareholders for Q1 2013 of $120 million or $1.32 per diluted share. Based on results for the first three months of the year, we continue to expect core net operating earnings in 2014 to be between $4.50 and $4.90 per share.
