Telehealth is becoming the best option for people who experience common healthcare access barriers. Here are some benefits of using a telehealth service:
- People who live far away would not have to drive a long distance to talk to a doctor.
- Those concerned with cost would not have to worry about paying a high deductible, missing out on income from missing a few hours of work or paying transportation costs.
- People with busy schedules wouldn't have to spend a lot of time traveling to the doctor, waiting in the waiting room and waiting more in the exam room. They would simply schedule a short phone call.
- People with transportation challenges would be able to get health advice wherever they are.

In fact, Texas recently scored a big win for telehealth in the form of legislation enabling telehealth patients to do an introductory visit by video call instead of requiring an in-office visit.
