The company's technology connects the full history of a claim, giving public adjusters evidence against complexity that can conceal millions

The facts of a property claim are often scattered across thousands, and sometimes tens of thousands, of emails, documents, photographs and estimates. Large insurance carriers have the staff, data and technology to navigate even the most challenging claims. Policyholders and their representatives are left searching for answers. That tension is growing. Property claims are taking longer to resolve than at any point since 2008, according to J.D. Power's 2025 U.S. Property Claims Satisfaction Study. Following 27 catastrophic events in 2024 and 28 the year before, average repair times reached 32.4 days, while final payments took more than 44 days. Longer timelines can also mean larger claim records, as emails, photographs, estimates, supplements and other documentation accumulate over the life of a claim.

Finch connects directly to the inbox, where claim work already happens, and automatically builds a complete, continuously updated claim record. Finch makes claim information easier to find and harder to overlook. To date, the platform has analyzed 315,000 documents from more than 15,000 property claims. In a sample comparing carrier estimates with those prepared by public adjusters, Finch identified an average difference of nearly 50%, representing more than $6 million in repair costs omitted from carrier estimates.

Claim values can also shift substantially over time. Among property claims in which insurers made no payment during the first six months, Finch found that the final settlement was typically 43% higher than the insurer's initial estimate. The findings show how substantially a claim's value can change as the record develops and additional damage, costs and documentation are accounted for.

Building the data layer for the future of insurance

Finch's ambition extends beyond automating individual claims. By structuring the complete history of each claim, rather than just analyzing isolated documents, the company is building a connected intelligence layer for property claims.
