Firebirds Wood Fired Grill Reaches $500,000 Milestone in Fight Against Childhood Cancer…One Cup of Lemonade at a Time
Firebirds supports Alex's Lemonade Stand with its fresh squeezed lemonade
CHARLOTTE, N.C., Jan. 27, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Firebirds Wood Fired Grill's commitment to support childhood cancer research has reached a major milestone. Since 2012, Firebirds has raised more than half a million dollars for Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF), a national charity that focuses on funding research projects to find better treatments and ultimately cures for childhood cancer. In this partnership with ALSF, Firebirds donates $1 to the Foundation for every glass of fresh-squeezed lemonade it sells.

This year marks the 12th year since founder Alexandra "Alex" Scott issued a challenge to volunteers to help raise $1 million for a childhood cancer cure. Firebirds has taken on this challenge in working diligently towards raising funds to find a cure; one cup of lemonade at a time, served in all 38 of its locations. As one of ALSF's notable contributors, Firebirds also participates in Alex's Lemonade Days, the charity's annual fundraiser that encourages communities to sell lemonade for childhood cancer research. Thanks to the help of guests, Firebirds has donated $500,805 to ALSF since the partnership began, raising $214,662 this past year.
