First GM Cases Settle Within The Fund

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas, Sept. 25, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Bob Hilliard, a Texas lawyer and one of the nation's key players in the pursuit of claims against GM announces that two of his clients, the families of Natasha Weigel and Amy Rademaker, have agreed to accept the amount offered by Ken Feinberg.

THE CRASH
Passengers Amy Rademaker, age 15, and Natasha Weigel, age 18, died on October 24, 2006 in St. Croix County, Wisconsin after their 2005 Cobalt left the road and crashed. The investigation revealed that airbags failed to activate and the ignition switch was in the position, indicating power steering, power brakes and air bags could not have function properly.

THE SETTLEMENT
Though Hilliard declined to disclose how much Mr. Feinberg offered each of his clients, he commented, "These offers are within the realm or reasonableness. Given the unknowns including GM's bankruptcy defense, my clients determined it was time to begin and emotionally move away from GM's unforgivable actions."

Hilliard currently represents 90 families of victims who were killed and over 1300 individuals who were injured in General Motors' defective vehicle.
