Corgi Insurance hires Insurtech Founder Josh LaRiccia to Lead National Distribution Strategy and Expand MGA, Wholesale, and Retail Partnerships
SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 27, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Corgi Insurance, an AI-native, full-stack commercial insurance carrier, today announced the appointment of Josh LaRiccia as Head of Distribution. LaRiccia will lead Corgi's national distribution strategy, expanding relationships with managing general agents (MGAs), wholesalers, and retail brokers as the company continues to grow its commercial insurance offerings.
LaRiccia joins Corgi after co-founding First Insurance & Risk Management, where he spent four years building the company's distribution operations from the ground up, including onboarding 15,000 users and 13,000 agencies on their platform. During his tenure, he developed relationships with agents, wholesalers, and industry partners, helping establish the firm's distribution network and market presence.
In his new role, LaRiccia will oversee partner development, distribution strategy, and market expansion across the United States. He will focus on identifying and onboarding MGA, wholesale, and national retail partners whose business aligns with Corgi's underwriting appetite and growth objectives.
LaRiccia will also work closely with Corgi's underwriting and product teams to identify underserved markets, develop new insurance programs, and bring partner feedback into the company's product development process.
"LaRiccia brings firsthand experience building a distribution business and understands what agents and brokers need from their carrier partners," said Nico Laqua, Co-Founder and CEO of Corgi. "As we continue expanding our insurance offerings, his experience and industry relationships will be instrumental in helping us reach more businesses nationwide."
"Corgi has an opportunity to rethink how carriers and distribution partners work together," said LaRiccia. "I'm excited to help build a distribution network that combines strong industry relationships with technology that makes it easier for partners to do business. Our focus will be on creating programs that address real market needs while building lasting partnerships."
LaRiccia will also represent Corgi at industry conferences and events, strengthening the company's presence across the MGA, wholesale, and retail insurance communities.
His appointment comes as Corgi continues to expand its insurance infrastructure, underwriting capabilities, and commercial insurance programs. By combining AI-driven technology with experienced insurance leadership, Corgi aims to streamline the insurance process for brokers, partners, and businesses.
