Find out during First Presbyterian Church's "I am" Sermon Series, held every Sunday at 10 a.m. from now until April 20.
"More so than any other figure in history, Jesus' words and deeds have been debated and discussed by believers and non-believers alike. The movie Son of God is based primarily on the story of Jesus in the Gospel of John. During this series, we will look at the things Jesus says about himself in that story and what they mean for our daily lives. It is a series you won't want to miss. Bring a friend too," said Rev. Dr. Russell Ritchel, Jr., Interim Pastor at First Presbyterian Church of Fort Lauderdale.
And during Holy Week Services, April 13 through April 20, First Presbyterian Church of Fort Lauderdale will hold a special dramatization of Leonardo da Vinci's Last Supper & Communion on April 17 (Maundy Thursday) in the Sanctuary at 7 p.m.
"It's one thing to read about The Last Supper or see it in a film, but to see an up close dramatization of Christ's last night on Earth is truly something everyone should experience," said Rev. Dr. Ritchel, Jr.
Everyone is also invited to continue in the church-wide Lent program entitled, "The Easter Experience" now through Wednesday, April 9. Each Wednesday during Lent, beginning at 6:30 p.m., following Wednesday Night Live Dinner in Fellowship Hall, there will be a 30-minute video followed by small group breakout sessions allowing for continued study. Small group presenters will include Rev. Dr. Ritchel, Jr., Rev. Dr. Connie Ast Caldwell and Rev. Dr. Ben Sorensen.
