FirstCare CEO Named Chair of Health Plans Board
Darnell Dent selected as Board Chair of Texas Association of Community Health Plans (TACHP)
AUSTIN, Texas, Feb. 12, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Effective January 2018, the Board of the Texas Association of Community Health Plans (TACHP) selected FirstCare Health Plans President and CEO Darnell Dent as its Chair for 2018. In this capacity, Dent will provide leadership to TACHP's 12 Texas-based companies that collectively serve over two million Texans and are committed to supporting and improving the health needs of people living at low and moderate incomes.

Dent will work closely with recently appointed Board Vice-Chair Frank Dominguez, CEO for El Paso Health, to lead the board in advocating for Texas health care consumers and providers and highlighting ways to improve the quality of health care for all parties involved. Among TACHP's objectives in 2018 are to create awareness and enhance the profile of community health plans, promote the Texas Medicaid Program for its quality, innovation and cost efficiency amongst providers and members, and advance its deep commitment to the health care of local residents and long-standing community partners.
