Fisher Manufacturing Announces 2018 Annual Culinary Scholarship Winner
TULARE, Calif., Feb. 28, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Fisher is proud to announce the 2018 winner of the Fisher Manufacturing Annual Culinary Scholarship: Hannah McEfee.
For the past two years, Fisher has partnered with the Culinary Institute of America's California campus at Greystone, offering an annual $2,000 scholarship to a student who demonstrated passion and dedication toward their education and the foodservice field. Over a five-year period, Fisher will be awarding a total of $10,000 to America's up-and-coming chefs.
Hannah McEfee definitely embodies that vision. Evoking fond memories of her childhood, along with a strong idealistic view of the world, she sees her career choice as much more than a process for serving food, but a means of bringing people together—a way to nourish the body, mind and spirit. Upon graduating she hopes to share her newfound knowledge with those who struggle to find a balance between health, convenience and the importance of a nutritious, well-prepared meal.
Whether reducing waste through recycling and simplified packaging, or by making products that help cut water usage, Fisher is always looking for ways to give back to their community and their industry. A 4th-generation family-owned California company, they're honored to be helping state students with a future in foodservice.
The Culinary Institute of America was founded in 1946 and is considered by many to be the world's premier culinary school. Located in St. Helena, California, amid the beautiful Napa Valley, its Greystone campus opened in 1995. They currently have 300 students together with an alumni network of some 49,000 people.
