FishNet Security Selects Site for New Headquarters
Leading IT Security Firm Moving to Sprint Campus
KANSAS CITY, Mo., July 5, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- FishNet Security announced today that it has entered into a sublease agreement with Sprint and will move 175 employees and the company's headquarters to the Sprint World Headquarters Campus in Overland Park, Kansas, in early 2012.
"FishNet Security has experienced tremendous growth over the last few years and now is one of the largest IT security firms in the country," said Gary Fish, president and CEO of FishNet Security. "As a result, our office space needs have changed dramatically. We searched throughout the Kansas City metropolitan area for Class A space that would not only accommodate our space needs in the near term but also provide additional expansion opportunities down the road. In addition, we wanted an environment with a world class technology infrastructure to support our rapidly expanding business offerings, as well as a facility with easy access to a wide variety of amenities for our employees and customers. The Sprint Campus in Overland Park is uniquely positioned to meet all of our current and anticipated needs."
Founded in Kansas City in 1996, FishNet Security reported $316 million in revenue in 2010 and is expected to surpass $400 million in revenue in 2011. The company currently has over 400 employees nationwide, with 175 employees located across three buildings in Kansas City's Crossroads district.
"I am pleased to welcome FishNet Security to Kansas," said Governor Sam Brownback. "This means more good jobs for years to come. This is a win for the entire Kansas City region, as a locally grown company remains local and its expansion benefits the entire area."
FishNet will more than double the size of its current facility to over 63,000 square feet when it moves into 6130 Sprint Parkway in Overland Park. The company will make an investment of $15.2 million at its new headquarters, which will include a 20,000-square-foot customer technology center where the company will be able to showcase the latest products and services available to its customers. In addition, the company plans to add 119 employees in Overland Park within five years. The lease agreement is subject to approval by the City of Overland Park.
"FishNet Security's decision is fitting in that it follows a trend of high tech companies moving to or expanding operations in Overland Park," said Overland Park Mayor Carl Gerlach. "FishNet's success is a testament to the entrepreneurial spirit and leadership of Gary Fish. The expanding world of technology brings with it constant challenges. The Sprint Campus, with its innovative design and high tech capabilities, provides FishNet the ability to grow and further prosper."
"FishNet Security is a leading company in the IT security field, and I am thrilled the company will mark the next chapter in its remarkable success story in Kansas," said Kansas Commerce Secretary Pat George. "Kansas has worked very hard to make the state a desirable location for business expansion. I wish FishNet every success moving forward."
