Fitz Takes- And Makes- ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

TUNICA, Miss., Aug. 26, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The Fitz Casino & Hotel, Tunica is hosting, accepting and making the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge on September 5^th from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. to raise funds toward finding a cure for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), also known as "Lou Gehrig's Disease."

The challenge has become a viral Internet sensation in recent weeks, as individuals and businesses worldwide have accepted and made challenges to their friends and "rivals" alike to pour buckets of ice water over their heads, making donations to the ALS in the process.  As of August 25^th, an estimated 1.7 million contributions have been made to the ALS Foundation, according to a story released online by Time.com.  While this fundraiser has been described as a "game changer" by spokespeople for the organization, much more is needed to help find a cure for the debilitating disease.

"One of our many dedicated Team Members recently challenged the entire property to the ice bucket challenge and we have gladly accepted.  In an effort to raise even more awareness, we are encouraging the people of the mid-south and all of our partners to come out and take the Ice Bucket Challenge along with us here at the Fitz," said Rick Casagrande, Executive Director- Marketing at the Fitz. Individuals are encouraged to come to the Fitz on September 5^th between 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., and participate. For a $10.00 donation to the ALS Association, challenge-takers (and makers) can enjoy live entertainment, hotdogs, and beverages.
