She regularly represents employers in the negotiations and implementation of collective bargaining agreements and the defense of employment actions, in addition to providing advice on a wide range of day-to-day employment matters. She also litigates labor and employment issues in arbitration and in many administrative agencies. Laura Kirshenbaum concentrates her practice on employment disputes both in public higher education and in the private business sector. With 14 years of experience in litigation, she regularly represents colleges and universities in state and federal courts, before administrative agencies and arbitration panels, and in sensitive internal matters. She helps both public and private clients navigate a broad range of employment issues, from discrimination and tenure denials to workplace discipline and difficult separations. She also has expertise in the complexities of medical and family leave matters. Before going into private practice, she served as a supervising Assistant District Attorney in the Middlesex DA's Office. Kirshenbaum has been named a Boston Magazine Top Employment Lawyer (2024-2025) and a Massachusetts Super Lawyers Rising Star (2022-2026). She received her J.D. from Boston University School of Law and her B.A. from McGill University.
Julayne Lazar has over 25 years of experience representing employers in the public and private sectors in all aspects of the employment life cycle, from developing compliant HR processes and policies to helping clients find creative employment solutions to litigating complex labor and employment disputes. She has a strong background in business and helps clients minimize risk while meeting their organizations' goals. Before going into private practice, Lazar spent 11 years in increasingly important positions at several administrative agencies in Massachusetts, including the AG's office, MCAD, the Department of Workforce Development, and the Department of Revenue, giving her a unique perspective when representing clients before these agencies. Lazar also served as in-house employment and labor counsel to a unionized employer of nearly 10,000 employees. She was named a Go To Employment Lawyer (2025) by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly. She received her J.D. from the New England School of Law and her B.S. from Bryant University.
Christopher Wurster focuses his practice on litigation and corporate counseling on a wide range of employment matters including discrimination, whistleblower claims, wage disputes, defamation, and restrictive covenants, and he advises clients on issues ranging from compliance with wage and hour laws, to employee leave and accommodation issues, to discipline and terminations. He has 15 years of experience in the law, with over a decade focusing on employment law. He has handled several high-profile employment law cases and trials. Wurster was named a Boston Magazine Top Lawyer for Labor & Employment (2021-2025). He was selected for and completed the 2025 American Bar Association Labor and Employment Trial Institute, and he serves as a Hearing Officer with the Massachusetts Board of Bar Overseers.
