Avere Vice President of Engineering Thomas Hicks joins moderator Arun Taneja, Founder and Consulting Analyst of the Taneja Group, and senior executives from Pure Storage, Fusion-io and WhipTail on a panel discussing the veracity of claims made by vendors of Flash-only products in delivering orders of magnitude performance improvements at similar prices to hybrid solutions. The panel, part of SNW's Solid State Storage Track, is scheduled for 4:10 p.m. on Wednesday, April 4.
An Avere engineer and VMware Certified Professional will be leading Hands-On Lab sessions with HP and Virtual Instruments, guiding attendees through exercises that illustrate storage implications in establishing, maintaining and optimizing a virtualized and physical environment. Lab participants will gain a better understanding of how they can go from reactively managing their storage and virtualized infrastructure to proactively detecting problems before they result in outages and user complaints. Real-world examples will include infrastructure-related cost reduction solutions and technologies that lower administrative overhead in large-scale virtualization environments. The sessions take place in the Trinity Ballroom during morning and afternoon sessions throughout SNW and gives users a chance to test drive the latest technologies in a controlled learning lab environment. A drop-in "open house" session is scheduled for Monday, April 2 at 11:55 a.m.
Produced by Computerworld and co-owned by Computerworld and Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA), SNW is the leading global event series focused on technologies to manage and optimize the information infrastructure across the data center and remote offices - from compute to network to storage. Throughout this four-day conference, attendees from major public and private sector organizations will learn about the latest user successes and challenges, products, tools, services and training across these technologies.
