Flipboard Deepens Coverage with New European Publisher Partnerships
90 Top Publications from France, Germany, U.K., Italy and Spain Join Flipboard As Readership Grows
PALO ALTO, Calif., July 19, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- In response to its growing readership in Europe, Flipboard has teamed up with top publishers in France, Germany, U.K., Italy and Spain to add 90 popular publications, such as Les Echos, Spiegel Online and NME Magazine, to its platform. The expansion gives publishers reach into Flipboard's global audience and improves the overall content quality for Flipboard's European readers.
The new titles complement the more than 5,700 European sources that Flipboard already features. With this expansion, Flipboard also starts rolling out a monetization strategy in France, U.K. and Germany together with its partners in these markets.

As Flipboard's audience grows, publishers have been seeing significant traffic from the curation platform, which has led to an increase in requests to collaborate. To meet the demand, Flipboard has made it easier for publishers to onboard onto its curation platform. Once publishers supply their RSS feeds, Flipboard optimizes content for mobile reading and discovery, and directs traffic to the publisher website. Each publisher partner has a verified Flipboard profile and the ability to add content to that profile. Like with many platforms, the readers on Flipboard can then share those stories with other readers, giving publishers even more reach and audience development opportunities.
Flipboard's community of readers, as well as professional Flipboard editors in each country, help surface the best content from publisher partners and other content creators. In addition to curation around categories like news, business, sports, and politics in each country's Content Guide, Flipboard's editors also collect the best stories around current events such the French Presidential elections, the terror attacks in the UK and the upcoming German parliamentary elections.
