Florida Board of Professional Engineers (FBPE) Approves SSPC 2012 Technical Program, Adds Approved Courses

PITTSBURGH, Nov. 7, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- SSPC: The Society for Protective Coatings is pleased to announce that the Florida Board of Professional Engineers (FBPE) has approved for professional development hours SSPC's entire slate of program offerings at its upcoming 2012 show in Tampa, Florida.  This includes both SSPC training courses and the technical education program.  The show is scheduled for January 30 - February 2, 2012 at the Tampa Convention Center.

According to Terry Sowers, Director of Member Services at SSPC, "We're happy to offer this opportunity for engineers holding Florida licenses to fulfill their PDH requirements.  The convenience of having so much programming in one place at one time allows them to be more productive and means less time out of the office."

The latest approval expands on a long relationship between SSPC and FBPE.  In the past, FBPE had approved a certain number of SSPC courses for PDHs.  This year, they've increased the total number of SSPC courses approved from five to twenty, and also approved the technical education program.

Approved courses now include: Abrasive Blasting Program (C7), Airless Spray Basics (C12), Basics of Estimating Industrial Coatings Projects, Bridge Coatings Inspector Program (BCI), Coating Application Specialist Certification Program (CAS), Concrete Coating Inspector Program (CCI), Concrete Coating Inspector Program (CCI), Evaluating Common Coating Contract Clauses, Floor Coating Basics, Fundamentals of Protective Coatings (C1), Lead Paint Removal (C3), Lead Paint Removal Refresher (C5), Navigating Standard Item 009-32, NAVSEA Basic Paint Inspector (NBPI), Planning and Specifying Industrial Projects (C2), Project Management for the Industrial Painting Contractor, Protective Coatings Inspector Program (PCI), Protective Coatings Specialist (PCS) Program, Quality Control Supervisor (QCS) and Using SSPC PA 2 Effectively.
