New on the Spanish market: HAPPICH RIU S.A.
WUPPERTAL, Germany and BARCELONA, Spain, June 1, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- HAPPICH GmbH, leading interior designer for utility and special purpose vehicles in Wuppertal, Germany repositions itself in the Spanish bus market. The traditional German company acquired the long established Spanish supplier Auto Carrocerias Riu, Barcelona, with the brand name Cowol. The newly founded Spanish company under German ownership is now called HAPPICH RIU S.A. and continues the current business of the acquired Auto Carrocerias Riu. In addition, the new HAPPICH RIU also takes on the direct distribution of HAPPICH components on the Spanish market and thus replaces the former distributor Ellamp Iberica. It's long-term Managing Director, Juan Carlos Perez, will carry on the business as Managing Director for HAPPICH RIU S.A..
"We continue to fight the severely splintered industry with our growth strategy. Development, production and distribution of parts and components for bodies of industrial vehicles - these activities of Auto Carrocerias Riu as well as its production portfolio and the industries are almost identical to ours. With Auto Carrocerias Riu we have acquired a healthy company with deep roots in the Spanish market and full order books. Soon we shall employ additional people," explains Marc Pelzer, Managing Shareholder of HAPPICH.
"Ultimately, HAPPICH RIU provides ideal conditions to serve as the starting point for the further development of the important Latin-American bus and utility vehicle markets for us."
Also the existing customer relations in North Africa are interesting.
HAPPICH, with its head office in Germany, is also represented directly in Great Britain, France, Poland, the Czech Republic and Turkey in addition to in Spain.
