For Holiday Entertaining, Savor the Celebration with HoneyBaked
ATLANTA, Dec. 18, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- It's that most wonderful time of the year again – a period for reflecting, giving, cherishing ... and serving only the best. With a little help from HoneyBaked, aspiring hosts and hostesses everywhere can work wonders in the kitchen this season, with plenty of time to spare for spending precious moments with family and friends.
Serving Honey Baked Ham® and turkey during year-end celebrations has been a delicious tradition for millions across the United States for more than half a century. Savory holiday meals are made easy and hassle-free with fully cooked and ready to serve signature Honey Baked Ham® and Smoked or Roasted Turkey Breasts.
Each Honey Baked Ham is slow-smoked for up to 24 hours, using a unique blend of hardwood chips to lock in that perfect taste. Its one-of-a-kind, sweet and crunchy glaze – made with a top-secret blend of sugar and spices – is added by hand in each HoneyBaked store, ensuring a flavorful, tender taste unlike any other. HoneyBaked's hams are expertly sliced to a uniform thickness of one-sixth of an inch to create the perfect serving size each time.
By serving HoneyBaked, holiday hosts and hostesses across America can add quality time back into their schedules and show family and friends that the moments they're sharing together during the holidays really are special.
"It's been a tremendous honor for HoneyBaked to be part of so many holiday traditions for so many years," says Maggie DeCan, @mdecan, president and chief operating officer of The Honey Baked Ham Company, America's largest specialty food retailer of ham, turkey, and other premium protein products. "Our store and e-commerce associates know that they aren't just preparing and glazing hams and turkeys; they are creating the centerpiece of a family's holiday meal. We all take that responsibility very seriously."
Feeding America Drive
Another responsibility HoneyBaked takes very seriously is its ongoing commitment to making a difference in the battle against hunger, especially at a time when spreading joy through the sharing of holiday meals occupies everyone's attention. In the spirit of giving, The Honey Baked Ham Company is partnering with Feeding America, the nation's largest domestic hunger-relief organization, for a fifth consecutive year to help provide food-related assistance to people in the United States suffering from the devastating effects of food insecurity.
Through Dec. 31, customers can make donations to Feeding America at the cash register of their local HoneyBaked store. Every dollar raised pays for 11 meals that will be delivered through Feeding America's network of local community food banks, and 100 percent of all contributions made at HoneyBaked locations will go to this cause. HoneyBaked's goal this season is to provide more than one million meals through in-store donations.
"As a beloved part of America's holiday tables, we understand the importance of sharing with those in need – not just at the holidays, but all year long," DeCan says. "I am always humbled to see how our customers and associates embrace this season of giving by joining in our efforts to make a difference in our local communities."
