Get Google Maps driving directions sent to your car with SYNC – all at no extra cost

The latest addition to the ever-expanding Ford Service Delivery Network (SDN), "Send to SYNC" lets Ford, Lincoln and Mercury owners with SYNC® Traffic, Directions and Information receive destinations sent from Google Maps' popular online mapping service. When users visit Google Maps to find locations, they will have the option to send a selected destination to their vehicle via a "send" menu. The SDN calculates the optimal route using the latest traffic information, then downloads the route to the vehicle. Easy to use and voice-controlled, Send to SYNC will help eliminate the waste and distraction of paper maps when it launches later this month, and will be available as an upgrade for existing 2010-11 models with SYNC TDI.  more...

Super-low emissions coming to F-450, F-550 Super Duty

Ford will begin offering an alternative-fuel engine prep package for 6.8-liter F-450 and F-550 Super Duty chassis cabs this fall that enables the use of efficient, clean-burning CNG or LPG. F-450 and F-550 Super Duty are Ford's latest commercial vehicles to get the alternative-fuel conversion option. Since introducing the option to E-Series last fall, Ford has shipped some 3,000 E-Series vans with CNG/LPG-prepped gas engines to fleet operators.  more...

Ford aces new roof strength tests, strengthens crash rating lead

Ford increased its industry-leading number of vehicles with top crash test ratings by earning five more Top Safety Picks from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) for the 2010 Ford Flex, Ford Fusion, Lincoln MKZ, Lincoln MKT and Mercury Milan. The same ratings apply to hybrid versions of Fusion and Milan. Ford Driving Skills for Life announces winners of national safety song contest

A carefully staged surprise stunned high school students Amber Ardolino, Chalisse Monroe, Levi Keller and Trey Singletary at the Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School near Pittsburgh.
