Exclusive new Ford airbag technology reduces chest and rib injuries

Safety takes a front seat in the next-generation Ford Focus, launching an exclusive airbag technology that enhances protection for front seat occupants in the most common front and side crashes. Ford's next-generation driver airbag with enhanced chest protection technology uses a reconfigured curve-shaped tether that pulls in the lower section to create a "pocket" to help lessen the airbag impact on the driver's chest and ribs in frontal crashes.  more...

Super Duty's new Power Stroke diesel wins top spot in shootout

The all-new, all-Ford 6.7-liter Power Stroke® diesel took top honors in Ward's first-ever Diesel Shootout, besting the cross-town competition in a contest that included 0-60 acceleration times, towing tests and climb/descent evaluations. The Ford Power Stroke was praised for its lightweight construction, use of compacted graphite iron in the block, innovative emission controls and "ability to squeal the tires while hauling 10,000 lbs." Ford snags Esquire magazine's Compact Car and Truck of the Year honors

The second annual Esquire magazine automotive awards are out, and Ford products are being honored at both ends of the spectrum. Esquire has selected the 2011 Ford Fiesta as Compact Car of the Year, citing its poise and comfort rivaling a car twice its size along with its fuel economy and driving dynamics.
