Ford encourages consumers to take charge of their environment
Whether it's unplugging electronics when not in use, using canvas bags instead of plastic or collecting rainwater, Ford wants to know what changes consumers are making to better the environment. It's all part of the company's new "Take Charge" contest on its Electrified Vehicle Facebook page, which runs through mid-April. Facebook users can offer ideas in four categories centered around lowering their impact on the environment. After submitting their ideas, users can reach out to their social networks to share their ideas and accumulate votes. Ford showcases full harvest of greener fuel solutions
Ford's growing portfolio of fuel-efficient products extends to commercial customers, too, including those interested in alternative-fuel vehicles to "green" their fleets. Visitors to the annual National Truck Equipment Association show in Indianapolis saw firsthand how Ford delivers the most comprehensive alternative-fuel solutions for commercial customers. The wide variety of vans and trucks with alternative-fuel capability is backed by support for customers looking to switch their vehicles from gasoline power to other fuels, such as compressed natural gas or propane. Ford's popular Drive One 4 UR School enters 2011 with more than $5 million in funds donated to high schools nationwide since the program's inception in 2007. Drive One 4 UR School is the company's most successful test-drive initiative ever with more than 255,000 test drives at more than 1,500 events in 49 states hosted by Ford and its dealers. New web series pits all-new Ford Police Interceptor against the competition
Ford, the leader in police vehicles, is putting its all-new Police Interceptor sedan and utility up against the competition in six action-packed webisodes. Cameras rolling, Ford turns its new Police Interceptors – which debut later this year – over to the authorities for some competitive driving exercises against the Chevrolet Tahoe PPV and Dodge Charger Pursuit.
