Fordham Road Business Improvement District Launches New Mobile App to Connect Retailers, Local Businesses, Residents and Others

NEW YORK, Dec. 17, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- In anticipation of the holiday season, the Fordham Road Business Improvement District (BID) recently launched a native app on Apple's App Store and the Google Play to communicate with its many audiences, including retailers, visitors, residents and property owners. The app can be downloaded for free in the app stores by searching "Fordham Road".

The Fordham Road BID is the first business improvement district in New York City to have an app of this kind.  Through the app, the BID will provide coupons and promotions from local retailers for residents and visitors.   In addition, the BID's app provides the ability to share information on the app socially, download multi-media for offline viewing, schedule events and receive "broadcast alerts" or push notifications to the locked home screens of phones in the event of emergencies or traffic-related issues.
