HOUSTON, Aug. 25, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Former Missouri Governor and Senator Kit Bond (R-MO) announced today that he is joining alliantgroup as a Senior Advisor and a member of its Strategic Advisory Board. In his new role, the former Senator will counsel alliantgroup on strategic initiatives to educate small and medium-sized Missouri businesses about valuable tax credits and incentives, as well as increase jobs in areas of high unemployment.

"We couldn't be more excited to work with Senator Bond to expand our efforts educating and championing small and medium-sized businesses and CPA firms in Missouri. We were deeply impressed by Senator Bond's dedication to continuing the work he started as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship with alliantgroup." – Dhaval Jadav, alliantgroup CEO.

The former Senator joins alliantgroup after participating in an in-depth presentation and discussion with senior alliantgroup management and key employees on how tax credits and incentives can help a broad range of Missouri businesses – including architects, engineers, manufacturers, life sciences, agriculture and software.

In this new partnership, Senator Bond is a member of an already prestigious group of advisors that includes former IRS Commissioner and alliantgroup Vice Chairman, Mark Everson, former Minnesota Congressman and alliantgroup Senior Advisor, Jim Ramstad, and former Senior Counsel and Tax Counsel to the Senate Finance Committee and alliantgroup National Managing Director, Dean Zerbe.

"I was honored to work for Senator Bond in the Senate and saw firsthand his leadership as a voice for small and medium businesses. Every day he came to the Senate thinking about how he could help business -- and especially businesses in Missouri. I couldn't be more pleased to have Senator Bond working with us at alliantgroup and continuing his work supporting business. That Senator Bond is back in the saddle is good news for companies across the country." – Dean Zerbe, alliantgroup National Managing Director.

At age 33, Kit Bond became the 47th Governor of the State of Missouri – the state's youngest Governor. Bond was elected to a second term as Governor in 1980. Missourians sent Bond to the United States Senate in 1986 and re-elected him three times in 1992, 1998 and 2004. In 2010, Senator Bond retired from the U.S. Senate.
