Former Nelsons US President David Hinton Takes On Nelsons CEO Role

NORTH ANDOVER, Mass., Aug. 6, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Nelsons, the UK's leading and Europe's longest established manufacturer of natural healthcare products, has appointed David Hinton as CEO of Nelsons. He has moved from the US to take the helm at Nelsons' Head Office in Wimbledon and replaces Najib Fayad, who retires after seven years as COO.   

David's appointment follows a hugely successful period of growth and global expansion for Nelsons during a particularly challenging time for natural healthcare and the global economy. He is charged with building on the company's solid foundations to drive the strategic vision and take Nelsons to the next level following a busy year of improvements to the company's infrastructure.

And he couldn't be better placed, as his previous position was President of Nelson Bach USA (US, Canada and Latin America) where he led distribution of the RESCUE® range and Nelsons H+Care® Hemorrhoid Relief Cream into mainstream mass drug outlets including CVS pharmacies and Walgreens. David was also responsible for the launch of pur-Absorb Iron™ into mass retail channels supported by an extensive marketing campaign and TV advertising.

David's resume includes 25 years of consumer and pharmaceutical experience ranging from general management, marketing, sales, finance, manufacturing and mergers and acquisitions experience. Prior to joining Nelsons, he held President and CEO positions with various consumer packaged goods companies, responsible for turn-around or growth objectives as well as repositioning companies, business units and brands domestically and internationally. David comments "From working for Nelsons in the US, I know the company, I know the owners and I enjoyed working with my predecessor, but I'm ready to bring something new to Nelsons.
