Former Packers Star, Gilbert Brown to Kick-off Free Health Care Clinic at Alliant Energy Center on Saturday Morning
WI Area Residents Urged to Call to Schedule Appointments Tomorrow for Massive Free Medical Clinic
MADISON, Wis., Aug. 7, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Former Green Bay Packers nose tackle, Gilbert Brown will kick-off the Free Health Care Clinic being held in Madison this Saturday at the Alliant Energy Center. Wisconsin area residents are urged to call 1-800-340-1301 and register as soon as possible to schedule an appointment at the one-day free health clinic. Patient appointments will be available between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.
The National Association of Free and Charitable Clinics (NAFC) will sponsor the Clinic in Madison. This free clinic event is not just for the sick but also for anyone who has little to no access to medical care and has not seen a doctor recently. The clinic will offer basic preventive primary medical care (including medical exams, diabetes tests, cholesterol tests, EKGs, pregnancy tests and more), 3 free months of medication, health education, on-site insurance navigators and connection to follow up care and the area's safety net community resources.
Gilbert Brown is a former nose tackle who played for the Green Bay Packers of the National Football League (1993–99, 2001–03). Brown played 125 Packers games (103 starts) recording 292 tackles (186 solo) and seven sacks. He was a major contributor on strong defenses during the mid-1990s. His best season was 1996, when Green Bay won Super Bowl XXXI. After football, Gilbert is the founder of the Gilbert Brown Foundation and has donated to more than 140 Wisconsin based youth organizations.
