Former Senior Wells Fargo Litigator Michael B. Goldberg Joins PIB Law as Managing Partner of New San Antonio Office

SAN ANTONIO, Oct. 3, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Michael B. Goldberg, formerly the chief in-house counsel for Wells Fargo's Consumer Lending Group in Texas, has joined PIB Law as Managing Partner of the firm's new San Antonio office.

Over the past decade, Goldberg has been responsible for managing all Texas litigation for the Consumer Lending Group of Wells Fargo Bank N.A. and spearheaded the defense of a national litigation docket for one of Wells' key business lines operating out of San Antonio where he established himself as a leader in the defense of dozens of class action cases and obtained several seminal rulings on key points of law.  He acquired a national reputation amongst his peers for being the industry leader in developing authority on key consumer lending origination and servicing issues.

Prior to joining Wells Fargo, Goldberg had been a shareholder and trial attorney at Cox & Smith, one of the top 25 firms in Texas area and the largest law firm in San Antonio.  He also worked as an associate attorney at Mayer Brown & Platt and worked as a federal criminal prosecutor in San Antonio, Texas.  During his legal career, Goldberg earned numerous awards, including being named the Wells Fargo Law Department "T.O.P. Performer," "Prosecutor of the Year" and a multiple-times designee as a "Texas Super Lawyer – Texas Rising Star."  Licensed to practice in Texas, Illinois and Washington, D.C., Goldberg received his J.D. from the Washington University School of Law in St. Louis.
