Former US Secretary of Transportation and Charlotte, NC Mayor Anthony Foxx Joins the Board of the Volcker Alliance

NEW YORK, Sept. 20, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The Volcker Alliance, a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization founded by former Federal Reserve Board Chairman Paul A. Volcker to address the challenge of effective execution of public policies and to help rebuild public trust in government, announced today that Anthony Foxx has joined its Board of Directors. Mr. Foxx, who served as Mayor of Charlotte, North Carolina from 2009 to 2013 and as the United States Secretary of Transportation from 2013 to 2017, brings to the organization a track record of dedication to public service.

Mr. Foxx, a North Carolina native, worked earlier in his career for the United States Department of Justice and the United States House of Representatives Judiciary Committee. Mr. Foxx has also worked for DesignLine Corporation, a hybrid electric bus manufacturer, and as a clerk for Judge Nathaniel R. Jones of the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals in Cincinnati. He received his undergraduate degree from Davidson College, where he was the first African American student body president, and a J.D. from New York University School of Law.
