Fortress International Group Awarded $16 Million Design-Build Contract for State-of-the-Art, Energy-Efficient Data Center

COLUMBIA, Md., June 13, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Fortress International Group, Inc. (Other OTC: FIGI), a provider of consulting and engineering, construction management and 24/7/365 site services for mission-critical facilities, today announced that it has been awarded a $16 million design-build contract with a multi-billion dollar, privately held staffing solutions company that specializes in providing domestic and international companies with outsourced technical personnel.

Fortress began engineering work on this Maryland-based project in early May, following receipt of a letter of intent from the customer. The engineering phase of this project is expected to continue through August 2011, with the construction phase expected to begin in September 2011. The project is scheduled for completion in May 2012.

The first phase of this project calls for the design and construction of 5,000 square feet of IT space with power capacity at 150 watts per square foot. We are designing and installing all primary infrastructure systems to support 10,000 square feet of IT space with an electrical demand of 300 watts per square foot, based on the client's anticipated needs for subsequent phases of the project. This robust facility will combine a concurrently maintainable design with new, medium- voltage electrical service, a standby generating plant, a static UPS system, and a unique cooling system designed for optimal power usage effectiveness, supporting the highest levels of energy and cost efficiency possible."
