Fosun RZ Capital raised new RMB Fund worth $300M+, setting the firm on course to becoming a fast-rising industrial investor

SHANGHAI, Feb. 24, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -- Fosun RZ Capital, a venture capital firm originated in China with a global investment layout, has announced on Thursday that it had completed the raising of its third RMB-dominated fund. The size of the newly raised fund, which is registered at Shanghai's Songjiang District, is 2 billion yuan (over $300 million). At present, Fosun RZ Capital, a fast-rising industrial investor, has assets under management of nearly 10 billion yuan (almost $1.6 billion).

National-level government-guided fund - China SME Development Fund, Venture Capital Guiding Fund of Shanghai and several market-oriented parent funds have become new shareholders of Fosun RZ capital in addition to its previous LP investors from Fosun. The new fund, Science and Technology Venture III RMB-denominated Fund, jointly launched and established by Fosun RZ capital and the China SME Development Fund, will rely on Fosun's industrial ecosystem to invest in and empower startups, facilitating the development of innovation-driven SMEs in China.

The new RMB fund will be seeking investment opportunities in early and growth stage startups in technology and new consumer goods industries, with a focus on semiconductor chip, autonomous driving, SaaS, new energy, robotics, cross-border business, cyber security and new brands.
