Foundation Radiology Group Announces New Board Member
PITTSBURGH, Dec. 9, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Foundation Radiology Group, one of the nation's largest providers of radiology services to hospitals, has announced that physician and healthcare entrepreneur Dr. Tushar Ramani has joined the company's board of directors. Ramani was a co-founder and president of Anesthetix Management, LLC, a national provider of comprehensive anesthesiology and pain management solutions to hospitals and surgery centers, which he later sold to TeamHealth and continued to run as president of TeamHealth's Anesthesia Division. More recently, Ramani has served as a consultant and director for various healthcare-related companies.
Ramani served in all material management roles at Anesthetix, including chief financial officer, in which he participated in the company's debt-financing and recapitalization, and led Anesthetix's growth leading up to the 2009 sale to TeamHealth, one of the largest U.S. suppliers of outsourced healthcare professional staffing services. Subsequently, as president of TeamHealth's Anesthesia Division, he helped to grow revenue by more than 300 percent.
"We are thrilled that Tushar is joining our organization," said Dr. Richard Vance, chief executive officer of Foundation Radiology. "His experience and industry knowledge comes from building a wildly successful business that became the dominant ancillary care model serving our target clients, and is directly relevant to our business today. As our growth accelerates, his advice and insights will prove to be an important part of our success."
In addition to Anesthetix, Ramani, a former practicing anesthesiologist and interventional pain management specialist, also developed several other companies providing anesthesia-related services, including a full-service healthcare staffing firm and an anesthesia RCM company. He attended Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, interned at Columbia University Morristown Memorial Hospital, and was a resident in Anesthesiology and Interventional Pain Management at Mount Sinai Medical School, New York.
"The radiology services market is going through a tremendous period of strategic change and consolidation," said Koleman Karleski, managing partner of Chrysalis Ventures, the venture capital firm that is an investor in Foundation Radiology. "Tushar's highly relevant experience will be extremely helpful in charting Foundation Radiology's future direction. We look forward to working with Tushar."
