Fourth Chinese Physicians Assembly for Humanity Launches First International Section on Evidence-based Medicine, Calls for Global Collaboration

BEIJING, Nov. 15, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -- The Fourth Chinese Physicians Assembly for Humanity (CPAH) launched its first international section, inviting experts, doctors, and public welfare professionals from the United Kingdom, Norway, the Czech Republic, and other countries to share their insights on evidence-based medicine (EBM).

This year's CPAH was held both online and offline on November 4-5, with the theme of Cohesion and Co-Construction: the Responsibilities of Physicians on Health-Care Welfare. The online international section garnered over one million viewers worldwide. Highlights included:

• Tobacco control specialist Prof. Rachel Murray's research on the effectiveness of smoking cessation methods, consultant respiratory physician in lung cancer
• Prof. David Baldwin, consultant respiratory physician in lung cancer, talked about the diagnosis of pulmonary nodules
• Prof. Richard Hubbard, chest physician and epidemiologist at the University of Nottingham, shared the use of clinical big data to solve diagnosis issues
• Prof. Miloslav Klugar, faculty of health and medical sciences in University of Adelaide, discussed the use of GRADE guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of COVID-19
• Prof. Per Olav Vandvik, professor with the Institute of Health and Society, University of Oslo, introduced a new solution that can produce guidelines more quickly, dynamically and reliably, and that can be implemented into clinical scenarios.

In the future, CPAH will strengthen liaison and cooperation with overseas public welfare organizations and the medical field to collaboratively promote doctors' public welfare activities around the world.
