Woodson, a lifelong competitive equestrian and avid dog lover, travels extensively up and down the East Coast for showjumping competitions, always brought along her two Hungarian Vizslas (a type of bird dog and where the company derives its name). However, when transporting her constant companions, Woodson faced many challenges in seeking out high-quality travel products, especially seat covers and restraints, to accommodate her best friends during these long car rides. "I tried many products available on the market, but was very frustrated by the time they took to install, lack of efficacy, durability or their ease of use, so I reacted to this challenge the only way I knew how, by designing dog travel products of my own."
FOWL DOG offers a variety of canine products, including the Fowl Dog Hammock (Bench Seat Cover), Fowl Dog Cargo Liner and Fowl Dog Decals – 50+ breed decals in a variety of colors & patterns. "Careful thought went into every single detail of my designs. Product safety, material selection and functionality were my top priorities. I test all products on my dogs first, then I select a test group for my prototypes, using contacts in my extensive network of dog owners, handlers, trainers and breeders."
FOWL DOG launches a Kickstarter Campaign in mid-September in an effort to raise capital for their newest product, the FOWL DOG Tether System, a vehicle restraint for up to two dogs. Melissa and her company look to raise $25,000 to manufacture, package and distribute the cutting-edge new product in time for the holiday season.

Fowl Dog is laser-focused on helping canines in need. "We are committed to giving back and have partnered with various rehoming and adoption dog rescue organizations that desperately need help in raising money. By listening and engaging with various dog communities the FowlDog4Charity car decal initiative was born," states Melissa.
