Free Community Talk with Rachel Held Evans - Millennials and the Church
HOUSTON, March 24, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Join us at 7 pm on Friday, March 28 in the South Main Baptist Church Sanctuary for an evening with Rachel Held Evans.
Rachel is a New York Times best-selling author (Evolving in Monkey Town; A Year of Biblical Womanhood) and blogger with over a quarter of a million visits to her blog each month at rachelheldevans.com.
She's been featured in interviews on The Today Show, NPR, The Washington Post, The Guardian, The Huffington Post, and Oprah.
Her writing explores the relationship between faith and doubt, facing the tough questions about Christianity, and the struggles of living with grace and authenticity in a modern culture.
Rachel speaks out of her own experience growing up in a conservative church tradition, which led to a crisis of faith during her college years. She now communicates with a renewed appreciation for her foundational beliefs coupled with an honest look at what Scriptures say to us today.
Starting at 5:00 p.m. there will be a Food Truck Meet-Up outside of the church including:
- Bernie's Burger Bus
- Monster PB&J
- Espresso Rescue
- Front Porch Desserts
Tables, chairs and water will be provided by South Main Baptist Church.
There is no charge to attend this event and it is open to public. There is open seating and doors will open at 6:30 p.m.
At the end of the event, Rachael will be conducting a book signing for all who are interested.
