Free money for college: BookSquad's Tuition Sweepstakes
Online textbook comparison site sponsors tuition sweepstakes
NEW YORK, Aug. 14, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Education is vitally important for many career paths, but schooling can come with a large price tag attached. USA Today reported a 15 percent increase in average tuition at four-year public universities between 2008 and 2010. Some universities have experienced much higher increases.
Many Americans are finding relief from tuition and fee spikes through scholarships and tax breaks, as organizations step in to counter the effect of the rising cost to student education. BookSquad announced a tuition sweepstakes that is open to legal residents of the United States and will award a grand prize of $5,000 to one sweepstakes winner.
"We are excited to offer a sweepstakes that will help a few lucky students with their tuition costs," Michael Feintuch, CFO of BookSquad, said. "Even those students that are not winners in the sweepstakes can still save quite a bit of money on their textbooks, which is a large cost of education."
BookSquad's tuition sweepstakes also includes two additional prizes of $2,500, four iPads and 30 cash prizes of $100 each. Individuals can enter the sweepstakes by going to www.booksquad.com and signing up for a free account. Only one entry will be allowed per individual, and the sweepstakes, which started August 7, will distribute the iPads and $100 cash prizes between September 1 and September 30. Winners for the larger cash prizes will be chosen on October 5, 2012.
