Freedom Home Care Expands Beyond North Shore With New Huntley Office

The new location extends Freedom Home Care's private-pay home care services into McHenry and Kane counties for the first time.

HUNTLEY, Ill., Aug. 28, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Freedom Home Care, a private-pay home care provider and member of the PurposeCare family of companies, marked the opening of its first location outside the North Shore suburbs with a ribbon-cutting ceremony August 13. The company has operated in the North Shore for more than 28 years.

The new location brings Freedom Home Care's services within reach of families in Huntley, Algonquin, and surrounding suburbs. Services available at the office include personal home care, outpatient services, and specialized support programs such as transportation and post-surgery assistance.

For Operations Manager Sarah Moore, the ribbon-cutting was the start of something bigger. Moore said she sees a broader role for the Huntley office within the community, built on education, connection, and partnership with the professionals and families who serve older adults in the area.

"We want the Huntley office to be more than a place people call when they need home care," Moore said. "We want to be a resource for the community. A place that brings older adults, caregivers, families, and professionals together through education, support, and meaningful connections."

The office is already building on that vision with new community programming. Living With Freedom, a series for older adults and caregivers that combines education, connection, and activities, opens Friday, August 28, with an Aromatherapy and Healthy Aging session from 10 to 11:30 a.m. The session includes an interactive aromatherapy experience and the chance for participants to make a custom scented lotion to take home.

Starting in September, the office will also launch Meaningful Mondays, a recurring series bringing local professionals together for networking and education on issues affecting older adults and the people who care for them.

Representatives from the Huntley Area Chamber of Commerce, the Algonquin/Lake in the Hills Chamber of Commerce, and the Village of Huntley joined healthcare and senior-service professionals, community partners, and Freedom Home Care team members at the ribbon-cutting.

Local businesses Blessed Little Kitchen, Brunch Cafe-Huntley, and Elle's Deli and Bagels also supported the celebration.
