AUSTIN, Texas, April 26, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- About 200 FreedomWorks activists will gather at the Texas State Capitol to put grassroots pressure on state legislators to pass comprehensive education reform bills that empower parents and students. Senate Bill 2 would lift the cap entirely on charter schools in Texas, while Senate Bill 1575 offers taxpayer savings grants to all Texas children.
Featured Speakers at the rally include State Senator Dan Patrick, State Senator Ken Paxton, FreedomWorks President Matt Kibbe and leading grassroots activists JoAnn Fleming, Katrina Pierson and Matt Rinaldi.
WHEN: Saturday April 27th, 2013 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. CT.
WHERE: South Steps of the Texas Capitol, 112 East 11th Street, Austin, TX 78701.
WHY: Texas can do better than dumping more money into a broken educational system. FreedomWorks believes that students, parents, and teachers can all benefit from an educational system fueled by competition and choice.
