SYDNEY, March 20, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Freelancer.com, the world's largest outsourcing marketplace, won the most awards at the interactive media industry's night of nights, including the coveted People's Choice.
Freelancer.com was the star performer at the 17th Australian Interactive Media Industry Association (AIMIA) Awards night, held Friday, March 18th, picking up two awards: Best Export Achievement and one of the night's most hotly contested, the People's Choice Award.
Over 600 industry leaders from all over Australia gathered at Cockatoo Island, in Sydney harbor, to celebrate Australia's top digital talent.
"We are extremely proud that Freelancer.com's global growth is being recognized by the industry and our peers", said Matt Barrie, Chief Executive.
One the night's most coveted awards, the People's Choice, cannot be entered directly. Instead, it is voted upon by AIMIA members and the public. Freelancer.com topped an outstanding list of 177 nominees, including Ogilvy, Fairfax Digital, Vodafone, Clemenger BBDO, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation and Saatchi & Saatchi.
"The People's Choice Award is extremely special, obviously. To be honored by Australia's best creative and entrepreneurial minds, as well as the wider community, is an overwhelming endorsement of what we've achieved. We dedicate this to each and every one of our Freelancers from all over the world, whose hard work knows no bounds," Barrie concluded.
