Freight Forwarder Flexport Announces Fifth US Office Opening in Chicago
Leading Logistics Provider Will Bring More Than 100 Jobs to the City in Next Two Years
CHICAGO, Jan. 30, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Flexport, the leading freight forwarder and logistics platform powered by technology, today announced its latest expansion with the opening of a fifth U.S. office in Chicago this March. The company expects to add over 100 new jobs to the Chicago metropolitan area over the next two years.
Flexport's Chicago office is located in Fulton Market, a top neighborhood for a variety of innovative startups and established technology companies. The company is currently hiring for roles on its sales, operations, and customs teams.
The Chicago office will be led by Taylor Oliver, senior director of accounts at Flexport. Oliver, a seasoned leader at Flexport, was instrumental to the growth of operations and account management for the company's Midwest client base.
Chicago represents an exciting opportunity for Flexport to establish a local presence in the Midwest, a vitally important region home to many of the country's fastest-growing brands and most robust manufacturing operations. Chicago's also one of the world's biggest hubs for air freight, with O'Hare International Airport currently processing more than 1.5 million tonnes of freight annually, and projecting a 50% increase in volume over the coming years. The opening of the Chicago office will enable Flexport to further develop relationships with local partners, and to better serve clients in the region for both import and export cargo across all modes of transit.
