French Textiles to be Manufactured in Borovsk
KALUGA, Russia, December 27, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --
A new technical textiles mill Porsher Modern Materials - an affiliate of France's Porcher Industries - was inaugurated in the Borovsk district of the Kaluga Region on December 18. The head of the Kaluga regional administration's office at the federal government, Deputy Governor Vladimir Potyomkin attended the event.
This is the first enterprise Porcher Industries has opened in Russia. It manufactures industrial textiles with various technical properties, used in aircraft building and rocket industries, as well as other advanced branches of the economy. At the first stage it will produce an estimated 20 tonnes to 40 tonnes of products a year. The output may be increased, if need be. Inside the region the Obninsk-based state-run research and production enterprise Tekhnologia will be its main customer. The French company invested 2.5 million euros in the project. Thirty jobs have been created.
About the importance of the event Deputy Governor Potyomkin said that the just-opened textile mill was the first foreign small business in the Kaluga Region and, what is particularly important, a world-famous high-tech brand.
