From Darkness to Light: Chabad of Oregon Builds a Loving Community in Response to 9/11
PORTLAND, Ore., Aug. 18, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- A major Jewish community event – open to all – will be held on Wednesday evening September 7, 7:00 PM, at the Old Opera House on the grounds of Alpenrose Dairy, 6149 SW Shattuck Road, Portland, Ore. 97221 (west side of Shattuck Road, halfway between Vermont and Beaverton-Hillsdale Highway).
The event is open to all and will feature a moving commemoration ceremony marking the tenth anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks. At the event, Chabad of Oregon will present their program plans for the coming year, activities that will help make our society the exact opposite of those who send out thugs to try to terrorize nations into some form of submission. The evening will also include a special "surprise" presentation that you won't want to miss. Following the 90-minute event, a sorbet dessert will be served to all in the Ice Cream Parlor across the courtyard from the Opera House.
Come and see how dedication to Jewish values can inspire us to build a world based on morality and love.
