From Stanford Medical Interpreter to Prolific Author, Kim Vu Explores Love and Life in New Poetry Collection

In "REALLY?," the Vietnamese-born author blends intimate reflections, philosophy and humor to explore the fleeting moments and contradictions that shape human experience.

WESTMINSTER, Calif., Oct. 7, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- What happens when poetry refuses to follow the expected rules? In "REALLY?," Kim Vu offers a collection of poems that move between love, philosophy, desire, humor and questions about existence, inviting readers to look at familiar experiences from a fresh perspective.

In this collection of poems, Vu moves through the central idea that life's most beautiful moments can be brief yet leave lasting impressions. In "Fleeting Image," for example, a brief glimpse of spring becomes an opportunity for deeper reflection. Vu writes, "My heart finds life gorgeous," ultimately discovering "solace in love." The poem captures a central theme of the collection: that even fleeting experiences can leave lasting impressions.

Throughout "Really?," Vu shifts between romance, humor and philosophical inquiry, encouraging readers to reconsider familiar experiences and examine their own assumptions about relationships, time and the meaning of life. Rather than offering a single interpretation, the collection leaves room for readers to bring their own experiences and questions to the poems.

For Vu, that openness is part of the appeal of poetry. "Really?" invites readers to slow down, embrace life's contradictions and find moments of beauty and meaning amid uncertainty.
