UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif., Nov. 16, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- A rebellious young woman embarks on an inspirational journey that takes her from the streets to the dance floor in Honey 2, available exclusively on Blu-ray™ Combo Pack with UltraViolet™, DVD, On Demand and Digital Download on February 21, 2012, from Universal 1440 Entertainment, a production division of Universal Studios Home Entertainment.

Honey 2 is directed by Bille Woodruff (Beauty Shop), who brought the first Honey to the big screen in 2003 and is renowned throughout the music industry for directing some of the hottest music videos around for top recording artists such as Britney Spears, R. Kelly, Toni Braxton, Mary J. Blige, Joe, Celine Dion, Jessica Simpson and Nelly.

Katerina Graham ("The Vampire Diaries") stars in Honey 2 as Maria Bennett, a 17-year-old girl just released from juvenile hall determined to rebuild her life, armed only with her talent for street dance and a burning ambition to prove herself.  When Maria returns to her gritty Bronx roots, her killer moves attract the attention of Brandon (Randy Wayne, "The Secret Life of an American Teenager"), who urges her to help lead a rowdy group of rising dancers to win a fierce national competition.  Maria's in for an unforgettable showdown in this inspiring story of courage, dedication and the will to never give up.

A diverse cast featuring Mario Lopez ("Extra") and Audrina Patridge ("The Hills") is joined by celebrity choreographer and Honey- inspiration Laurie Ann Gibson ("So You Think You Can Dance," "Making the Band").  Additional cast includes Seychelle Gabriel (The Last Airbender), Melissa Molinaro ("The Pussycat Dolls Present: the Search for the Next Doll"), Brittany Perry Russell ("CSI: NY"), Tyler Nelson (Stomp The Yard 2), Casper Smart (Step Up 3-D), Luke Broadlick (Britney Spears "Circus" tour, Step Up 3-D), Justin DeAnda (Camp Rock 2), George Alexander (Step Up 3-D), Gerry Bednob (The 40-Year-Old Virgin) and Lonette McKee (Honey, Sparkle) who reprises her role of Connie Daniels from the original film.  

The gravity-defying stunts and jaw-dropping choreography in Honey 2 are provided by premier dance crews from all over the country including California's Quest Crew (winners of MTV's "America's Best Dance Crew, Season 3), Fanny Pak and the Beat Freaks, Las Vegas' Super Cr3w and the Strikers All-Stars of Tallahassee, Florida.  The film also includes music from Far East Movement, Estelle, La Roux and a musical performance by Alexis Jordan.
