Frost & Sullivan Commends Embotics' Introduction of vCommander, a Comprehensive Hybrid Cloud Management Solution
Embotics vCommander supports a wide variety of infrastructure deployment models as well as hypervisors and integrates with common software development tools
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Sept. 15, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Based on its recent analysis of the hybrid cloud management platforms market, Frost & Sullivan recognizes Embotics with the 2016 North American Frost & Sullivan Award for Product Leadership. Embotics' infrastructure-agnostic cloud automation platform, vCommander, stands out in the hybrid cloud management platform market for offering common visibility and control over a wide range of infrastructure environments and deployment models. It continuously monitors enterprises' hybrid IT environment to optimize the automation, deployment and configuration of IT services.
vCommander enables IT organizations and service providers to manage their environments through an intuitive, easy-to-understand, Web-based interface. It leverages the proprietary application programming interfaces (APIs) and sales development kits (SDKs) of the underlying hypervisors and cloud platforms to integrate disparate platforms. This way, it helps customers effectively manage a hybrid, heterogeneous cloud, all through a single pane of glass.
The Embotics platform has deep management and orchestration capabilities for VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V. It can also manage AWS, Azure and HPE Helion infrastructure. Furthermore, it can integrate with a variety of third-party configuration management tools including Chef, Puppet, Docker, ServiceNow, Veeam, Infoblox, BlueCat and Jenkins.
"vCommander extends through the platform layer, managing both infrastructure as well as infrastructure-specific development and delivery platforms. It automates common management features, including self-service provisioning, deployment and management of infrastructure," said Frost & Sullivan Industry Analyst Karyn Price. "Additionally, it performs analysis of services in use, and can offers suggestions for optimization based on the needs of the application being deployed. It also aids simple metering and facilitates customer or departmental chargebacks based on usage."
vCommander focuses on inventory discovery in order to minimize infrastructure sprawl. It uses agentless software to log every 'create' and 'destroy' function within the infrastructures being managed and allows the IT customer to view all infrastructures in use. Embotics seeks to continuously enhance the service by adding support for new infrastructures to underscore its commitment to the infrastructure-neutral market position.
"While the product is priced as a single, price-per-socket that includes all modules, customers can leverage as few or as many features as they need," noted Price. "The all-in-one interface is a contrast to other solutions that require multiple products to accomplish the same task; therefore it involves significantly less turn-up and on-going administration for the IT administrators of the Embotics vCommander platform."
Moreover, if a customer needs to manage a new infrastructure not currently supported by vCommander, its architecture makes it easy to add new infrastructures for monitoring. Due to these advantages, the company has won more than 100 customers and a greater than 90% renewal rate from large enterprises, mid-market businesses, and service providers.
Embotics has positioned itself very strongly with its innovative product portfolio, serving a wide array of applications and customer demand for quality, functionality and price/performance value.
Frost & Sullivan presents this award to the company that has developed a product with innovative features and functionality, gaining rapid acceptance in the market. The award recognizes the quality of the solution and the customer value enhancements it enables.
Frost & Sullivan's Best Practices Awards recognize companies in a variety of regional and global markets for outstanding achievement in areas such as leadership, technological innovation, customer service, and product development.
