Frost & Sullivan Commends Level 3 for Offering Advanced VoIP Access and SIP Trunking Services in its Integrated Product Line, Voice Complete
The combination of value-added features and Level 3's wide global network, Voice Complete is well positioned to meet the needs of even the largest and most demanding customers
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Aug. 22, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Based on its recent analysis of the Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) access and session initiation protocol (SIP) trunking services industry, Frost & Sullivan recognizes Level 3 Communication with the 2016 North America Frost & Sullivan Award for Product Leadership. Level 3 Communication's refined VoIP and SIP trunking product, Voice Complete, simplifies service deployment and management for businesses. It bundles local and long-distance calling services with the IP features and functionalities that are most in demand. It has clearly made a mark for itself with value-added services such as shared concurrent call paths, disaster recovery and business continuity options, geographically-independent telephone numbers, and a simplified migration path from time division multiplexing (TDM)-based solutions to native IP-based SIP trunks.
Unlike its competitors, which often develop myriad voice services under an equal number of brand and product names, Level 3 has integrated all its VoIP access and SIP trunking services into the Voice Complete product line. This product suite is ideal for medium- to large-size businesses that either have multiple locations or high bandwidth data needs. The customers also tend to have on-premises unified communications platforms across business sites and have a dispersed workforce, which necessitates the dynamic sharing of voice resources. Voice Complete's broad feature set ably addresses these requirements, making it the solution provider of choice among elite end users.
Level 3's multiprotocol label switching (MPLS) and carrier Ethernet data services deliver secure and reliable VoIP services, enabling Voice Complete to provide on-network quality of service (QoS) with minimal latency. Furthermore, by leveraging its extensive network it promises superior uptime guarantees, which positively impacts its service level agreements.
"With the Voice Complete solution, customers can access their domestic phone number anywhere on Level 3's network. This not only allows a highly mobile workforce to stay connected, but also helps businesses ensure that E911 and emergency services are available to users at their current location," said Frost & Sullivan Industry Analyst Michael Brandenburg. "Besides, customers can connect legacy telephony platforms and applications to Voice Complete without additional hardware, which gives them the QoS of a SIP-based trunking service and the lifecycle of legacy or proprietary applications."
Being a single product line, Voice Complete presents operational efficiencies in the deployment and management of voice services. It does not require multiple billing and operational platforms, which creates opportunities for the implementation of best practices and process improvements in Level 3's daily operations.
Level 3 has designed its Voice Complete service to be both highly scalable and highly repeatable. Repeatability is particularly crucial to Level 3's growth plans, as the company will be able to apply its experiences in regions outside North America and offer accelerated deployment times to new customers in existing territories. Additionally, Level 3's leadership position in the data services market generates numerous pull-through opportunities for its entire set of services, including Voice Complete.
"Level 3 positions itself as a competitive alternative to both the incumbent telecommunications providers and the over-the-top VoIP providers in the medium-to-large enterprise space," noted Brandenburg. "The company's reputation as a provider of data network, content delivery, data center, cloud, and managed services has gone a long way in promoting its VoIP access and SIP trunking solutions among Tier I and Tier II enterprises."
Each year, Frost & Sullivan presents this award to the company that has developed a product with innovative features and functionality that is gaining rapid acceptance in the market. The award recognizes the quality of the solution and the customer value enhancements it enables.
Frost & Sullivan Best Practices awards recognize companies in a variety of regional and global markets for demonstrating outstanding achievement and superior performance in areas such as leadership, technological innovation, customer service, and strategic product development.
