The Russian search engine, Yandex's, overtaking of the main national television station, Pervy Kanal, in terms of both audience and advertising revenues, has been a landmark event in the evolution of the RuNet over the last years. It illustrates the power shift in the wider Russian media landscape from offline to the Internet.
