Funakoshi to Distribute ReachBio Research Labs Human Primary Cell Products in Japan
Agreement also gives Funakoshi rights to promote ReachBio's contract cell biology research services.
SEATTLE, Nov. 12, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- ReachBio Research Labs (a registered trade name of ReachBio LLC, Seattle, WA) announced today that it has signed an agreement with Funakoshi Co., Ltd. (Tokyo, Japan), giving Funakoshi non-exclusive distribution rights to ReachBio's human primary cell product line for the life science research market within Japan. Under a companion agreement, Funakoshi will also promote ReachBio's specialized contract research services to Japanese drug development companies.

ReachBio Research Labs provides research products and contract services for applications in basic life science research, drug research & development and toxicology. The company's cryopreserved normal human primary cells are isolated from blood, cord blood and bone marrow and include minimally processed mononuclear cells and highly purified subsets such as T lymphocytes, B lymphocytes, natural killer cells and monocytes. It also includes "ReachBio Qualified ™ " CD34+ and CD133+ stem cells from cord blood and bone marrow that are functionally pre-qualified in colony-forming cell assays. ReachBio also offers customized cell isolation services for customers with specific needs such as unique cell types, particular donor background, HLA type, repeat donors, etc.
ReachBio's specialized contract research services utilize human primary cells, particularly hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells, in in vitro assays that are highly predictive of drug efficacy and hemotoxicity.
