Cork Collection Program Benefits Meals On Wheels Association of America's Hunger Relief Efforts
MODESTO, Calif., Nov. 12, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- This holiday season, Gallo Family Vineyards invites Americans to help raise $100,000 to fight senior hunger with the Every Cork Counts™ campaign. For the third year in a row, the family-owned winery has partnered with the Meals On Wheels Association of America to help provide relief to the more than 8 million seniors affected by hunger every day. Taking part is as easy as uncorking a bottle of wine.

Corks from any of Gallo Family Vineyard's great tasting wines can be mailed back to the winery to benefit the Meals On Wheels Association of America efforts to end senior hunger. For every cork received from August 1 to December 31, 2012, a $5 donation, up to $90,000, will be made to Meals On Wheels. An additional $10,000 will be donated through Gallo Family Vineyard's Facebook page where fans can make a difference by playing a fun, interactive game.

The Meals On Wheels Association of America is the oldest and largest national organization composed of and representing local, community-based Senior Nutrition Programs. These programs deliver more than one million meals a day with the help of nearly 2.2 million volunteers. The Every Cork Counts program is a simple, yet impactful way for all Americans to support the cause and give back during the holidays. With this year's program Gallo Family Vineyards will have raised more than $150,000 for Meals On Wheels Association of America.
To make a cork count, cork(s) should be mailed to Every Cork Counts, P.O. Box 1154, Grand Rapids, MN 55745-1154. Participants are encouraged to use a padded or bubble envelope or tuf-pak to mail cork(s) with sufficient First Class postage. All corks must be postmarked between August 1, 2012 and December 31, 2012 and received by January 10, 2013.
