GREENVILLE, N.C., July 19, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Game Plan, the platform unifying the student-athlete experience for college and university athletic departments, is excited to announce that Marquette Athletics has joined the Game Plan family of customers. Game Plan will serve as a cornerstone for Marquette's four-year comprehensive student-athlete development program – the Marquette Map – a strategic initiative launching this fall.
The Marquette Map outlines a specific curriculum and requirements for student-athletes in the areas in personal and professional development across the four years they are on campus. Athletic staff and student-athletes will use Game Plan's online platform as a foundation to manage resources for its academic tools, career services, life skills and personal and professional development programs.
"We are thrilled to partner with Marquette as they have gone from an idea to execution. Their plan to develop the student-athlete through their journey is compressive and powerful," said Vin McCaffrey, CEO and founder of Game Plan. "Game Plan provides the Golden Eagles athletic department staff with a key analytics and content and gives student-athletes access to new jobs and internships that they previously didn't have access to."
Game Plan allows student-athletes to easily take and manage results for personality, interest and transition assessments including proprietary student-athlete based assessments. Its eLearning Library offers over 40 eLearning modules covering topics like time management, social media, resume building and career preparation. Game Plan also offers a career portal that connects companies and colleges in an effort to help place student-athletes in jobs after graduation. The career portal also helps college athletic departments manage job opportunities and track job placement of student-athletes.
"It's exciting to be a part of Marquette's team as they design a cutting-edge program from the ground up," said Erica Cenci, director of business development at Game Plan. "They've put a lot of thought and work into addressing the specific challenges and needs of student-athletes today."
There are many challenges in the student-athlete development process and ensuring successful transitions from high to college and from college into the workforce is a top priority for many athletic departments. Today, Game Plan works with over 40 university athletic offices across the country to help ease these transitions, improve the student-athlete experience and unify athletic departments, as well as employers.
