Gander Mountain Opens First Store in El Paso

The grand opening celebration for the nation's western-most Gander Mountain store location will include celebrity appearances, family activities and giveaways.

The new 61,000-square-foot Gander Mountain store in El Paso is located at 2036 North Zaragoza Road, near Highway 375 and Montwood Drive.

Events and appearances will occur from Thursday, May 28, until Sunday, May 31.

Special events, appearances and giveaways include:

• Jay Novacek, five-time pro bowler and three-time Super Bowl champ, will appear on Thursday from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
• Travis "T-Bone" Turner, host of Michael Waddell's Bone Collector on the Outdoor Channel, will be signing autographs on Friday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• Earl Campbell, Hall of Fame running back, will be signing autographs on Saturday from noon to 2 p.m.
• Chase Landry and Bruce Mitchell, stars of the History's hit series Swamp People, will sign autographs and appear for photos on Saturday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from Noon to 3 p.m.

The first 1,000 customers through the door on Thursday through Sunday will receive a free scratch-off card. Every card is a winner, with prizes including gift cards valued up to $100, coupons for up to 50 percent off, shirts, hats and sunglasses.
